And now, the actor has exclusively spoken to SpotboyE.com about the new season, successful journey of the onscreen love story and his bond with Supriya Pilgaonkar who he fondly calls 'Maa' in real life also. Read on;
The promo of Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi 3 is finally out. What response have you been receiving for it?
Response is really positive. It's strange that it has been more than five years the earlier seasons got over but people still have the same love for it. They want to see more on Kuch Rang between Dev, Sonakshi and Ishwari- that is making me more excited for it.
What new the audience will get to see between Dev and Sonakshi this time?
In this season we will be taking the story forward where Dev and Sonakshi are married and now what issues the couple faces generally after marriage will be shown.
What makes Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi different from other content on TV?
It's very real and different from regular daily soaps which we see on television. There is no black or white characters or you will see a vamp or a murder mystry. Our show has always focused to make things real and relatable and this time also we are going to follow the same thing. Any normal family would be able to relate their lives with us.
How did you react when Dev's character came to you for the very first time?
I still remember when they came to me with Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke for the first time and gave me the one liner maine kaha 'aise hi to show bante hai aur zadatar stories aisi hi to hoti hai to isme khaas kya hai?'. I was not convinced but when Mamta Ma'am gave me the narration and shared the vision she had for the show, I was completely in. I can say when I entered the room I was not convinced but when I walked out of the room, I was dying to do the show. Because I realised it's a same story but will be told in a different way. I could feel the freshness.
Actors usually avoid to repeat their shows and characters, then what convinced Shaheer to say yes to it for the third time?
The first two seasons which I did were exactly shot and presented the way I was told. Usually in daily soaps the story doesn't stay the same as narrated from the beginning till the end. Looking at the TRPs, changes are done in storyline. But I was amazed with the fact that from the writers, producers and channel, all of them followed what they had promised.
Other than Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi, sequel of which other shows of yours would you love to be a part of?
I think 'Kya Mast Hai Life' which was my first show and Disney's first original in India. Also Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke and Navya. I have loved all my shows because all my characters have been different from each other. I don't mind being part of it, if they come up with another season.
You call Supriya Pilgaonkar (Ishwari) Maa in real life also, what is the reason behind it?
I try to live the character and while living the character of Dev, the bonding which I created with Supriya Ji is so real. I feel myself lucky that I genuinely got motherly love from her. Our relationship is so pure and I could feel that bond from the very first day when we shot our scene together. It is not like that our bond was created over the period of time. When I used to do scenes with her I used to actually feel every dialogue.
We saw her present in the your court marriage that definitely proves you are extremely close to her...
Yes, very much. She is my family in this city.
Do you also take her guidance in real life?
Har chiz mein. In all my important decisions, I keep her involved. Of course, I also call my mother and discuss everything and share what I have in my mind and heart. Similarly, I do with Maa also. Jitne chizo ke liye calls Mummy ko jata hai utne chizo ke liye Maa ko bhi calls jata hai. Both of their decisions matter to me and mostly they both are on the same page.
When was the first time that you felt the show will be successful?
Our first promo was directed by the very famous actor and director Gajraj Rao who understands cinema so well. And he said that this show is going to work because both of you are good and I can see the capabilities in the show. That gave me a kind of confidence that we are on the right track. While shooting the promo itself, I could feel the vibe.
